Polish Union of Footballers was established on February 28, 1997 at the initiative of Marek Pięta, former player of Górnik Walbrzych, Widzew £ódz and Hannover 96.
Among the initiators there were 38 players of three clubs: Widzew £ódz, Ceramika Opoczno and Raków Czestochowa. The founders elected Marek Pięta for the office of the President of PZP.
The main objective of the Union is considered the increase of the solidarity between the players and promoting and protection of the players' rights.
Our members are provided with legal assistance in 42 member countries of FIFPro, both before and during the contract.
Players' representatives defend their rights before the jurisdictional organs of Polish Football Association and Ekstraklasa S.A. Marek Pięta is a member the Department of Games of the PFA and Bartosz Urbańczyk, the Executive Director, is a member of the Commission of the League.
We provide individual legal assistance regarding players' rights and obligations to clubs. The player can address us in order to verify the contract proposed by his club.
Among the objectives, set out by the Statute, there is also assistance for the players and their families, who due to various misfortunes of luck found themselves in difficult situations. The PZP undertook many actions in order to support the "Help Fund", which provides the means for such activity.
